I found that while left-right worked well enough, up-down not so much and diagonals were almost impossible. Perhaps it just wasnt meant for Raiden. +LS650 Posted January 31, 2015 Share Posted January 31, 2015 I received my black Boomerang controller today, and spent about an hour playing a few different games. I have to say it's pretty much a disappointment. The shell is a close copy of a Sega Genesis/Megadrive 3-button controller. I like the Sega so I was hoping to like this one. It _is_ comfortable to hold. The buttons have a kind of 'Fisher-Price' look to them, but I care about functionality a lot more than looks. I found the buttons work okay, but not great, and certainly no better than a regular Jaguar pad. The D-pad, however... ai-yi-yi. Abysmal. It has a very strong clicking action, and requires quite deliberate, hard presses to get the controls to sense the input. I also find that the transition from one direction to another is very sloppy. You switch from left to right, say, and the control lingers on left while you've started pressing deliberately right. Overall, it's a let-down, though to be honest, I didn't really expect it to be a great controller.
