Binarygeek
All the Indus drives I have seen, (and I have seen quite a few), have a 2732 EPROM. I have never seen a mask ROM in one. The Atari 1050 comes with four jumpers, and they are set depending if the drive has an ROM or EPROM. I meant to say that the Indus does not have this jumper arrangement. MrMartian
When I open up my Indus to take some pictures of my power adapter hack, I will also try swapping out the socket and EPROM to see if it just works with a 28 pin chip.... Maybe I should get to that today!
Guest
well well well all was fine. then after taking it apart to clean the plexi front panel the exact same fault is BACK !!!! it's like this: power on, it seeks...goes to track 39 and stays there no matter what i do it times out however, if i boot with the disk in it seems go to menu/dos etc....but nothing after that
Guest
this is getting freakier and freakier it's looking more and more like a power issue so if the connector is "tight" in the socket all is well but even a bit of slackness or movement and the G5 reappears and it struggles at least i can see where i need to be looking
MrMartian
Hang on... There's a chance if it thinks a button is held in on the front panel, it will lock up in a loop. I don't remember if there's a way to unplug the front panel buttons...
