Xebec's Demise
Have any of you asked Philip Price for an interview? He basically reverse engineered the Atari 800, teaching himself how to code and developed an amazing 3D game in 1985 called Alternate Reality, he then went on to code for the B2 stealth bomber. Here's an old interview: https://dadgum.com/halcyon/BOOK/PRICE.HTM Edited October 8, 2023 by Xebec's Demise

In October 1981, Atari opened its first Regional Software Acquisition Center, managed by Steve, in a 4,000 square-foot location that also housed the Atari Program Exchange (APX). Later Steve was Atari's VP of International New Product Development, in charge of software development for non-US markets. This interview took place on January 17, 2017. Teaser quote: "I had these guys that were in a barn that was built in 1100-something that had set it up to be their "office" somewhere in northern England, in the middle of nowhere. They had come up with a ... baseball cap that you'd put on and you could move the cursor with your eyes." Downloaded for a listen later, as Steve mentioned as the Atari UK Source regarding these. The program was fine; getting the documentation right, and yet have them be happy with it, was a little frustrating. The program included computer news, product reviews, and interviews. In 2020 I did an interview with the three creators of The Famous Computer Cafe, a 1980s radio show that did interviews with amazing tech people. All the episodes were lost. In what can only be described as a minor miracle, I just acquired some of the original master tapes, including interviews with Jack Tramiel, Douglas Adams, Bill Gates and others. Want to help me get them digitized? I'm doing a GoFundMe to get the tapes digitized and into Internet Archive. https://gofund.me/87eb1a5b
