Austin
Lumping a few together due to backwards compatibility (PS2/PS1). Looking at it, I don't even know if this list is right. That top seven especially has some heavy hitters for me. 10. Atari Jaguar 9. Neo-Geo AES/CD 8. NEC PC Engine/CD 7. XBOX 360 6. Sega Saturn 5. Sega Dreamcast 4. Sony PlayStation 2/PS1 3. NES 2. Dreamcast 1. Atari 2600 That said, I've been playing a of the CV flashback lately. I was never a huge Colecovision guy, but the Flashback is turning me around. Games: 10. Super Mario World (SNES) 9. Rhomaios
Instead of these lists, I prefer to see larger comparative lists. Top 10 by console, and then ranking consoles by generation. It's just meaningless to compare the 360 and 2600. Or rather, it doesn't say a whole lot about my opinions.

Atari 5200 / Atari 8-bit computers I just couldn't help but add a 90's era PC to the list. Yes, it's not a console, but it was the only way to play what was IMHO the best games of the 90's... X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Doom, Dark Forces, Master of Orion, etc. These were all so great, I didn't even consider buying a 90's era console during that decade... the PC was just so clearly superior for that time period! Austin
We are on a site called AtariAge and not one Atari console can break into your top 10. That reminds me, I need to update my list. Not sure why I put the Jaguar there when I could have put something like the Wii on it instead. (Consider this "in no particular order") 10. Nintendo Wii 9. Neo-Geo AES/CD 8. NEC PC Engine/CD 7. XBOX 360 (will change this to XBOX ONE when backwards compatibility becomes a thing) 6. Sega Saturn 5. Sega Dreamcast 4. Sony PlayStation 2/PS1 3. NES 2. Sega Genesis/CD/32X 1. Reaperman
Now this is a pretty fun thread. systems: Nintendo Game Boy Micro Arcadeworks Omega (neo geo MVS) Atari 800XL GCE Vectrex Nintendo Game Boy Nintendo SNES Sega Nomad Sega Saturn Atari 7800 Turbo Express Games: Dreamweb (PC) Final Fantasy III (SNES) Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) Super Metroid (SNES) Wing Commander: Privateer (PC) Tactics Ogre (SNES) Grandia II (Dreamcast) Metal Slug 3 (Neo Geo MVS) Racing Gears Advance (GBA) Koronis Rift (Atari 800) It's amazing that I placed the SNES so far down on my console list despite it having three of my ten favorite games. The system is competent but ownership of it lacks a certain 'specialness' that the top systems have more of. Of course if that undefinable 'specialness' was all that counted, turbo express would have been higher, and game boy would have dropped off all together to be replace with nuon or something. I'm going to be scanning this thread heavily for new game suggestions. Neat to see castlevania iii doing so well. I think it's my favorite of the series too, but I wouldn't have guessed that would be a popular opinion. None of them fancies my funny bones enough to be in my top 10. Sure the 7800 is a good console but lets be real, better than the SNES or PS1, nah Edited July 22, 2015 by TheObscureGamer

Rhomaios
I think he means on what points do you make that observation, i.e. games you can play on it, specific game library only, technical specifications, technical specifications relative to competing consoles. byonddrivn
Consoles 10. Odyssey 2 9. Xbox 360 8. Wii 7. Vectrex 6. Dreamcast 5. Genesis 4. Atari 2600 3. NES 2. Colecovision 1. SNES Since I didn't list portables - honorable mention to the Nintendo DS Games - don't think I can keep it to 10, my list is just alphabetically 1. Bionic Commando (NES) 2. Contra 3 (SNES) 3. Final Fantasy 2 and 3 (SNES) 4. Ikaruga (GameCube) 5. Mario Kart Wii (WII) 6. Night Stalker (Atari 2600) 7. Oil's Well (Coleco) 8. Scramble (Vectrex) 9. Super Dodge Ball (NES) 10. Tapper (Coleco) Also a honorable mention to Beetle Adventure Racing (N64) Multi-player gets a little different list and would include 1. Boom Blox (Wii) 2. Herzog Zwei (Genesis) 3. Kaboom (Atari 5200) 2 player is the only way to play! 4. Slot Racers (Atari 2600) 5. omegadot
Hmmm..... It changes but here's mine currently. 1. Dreamcast - Due to my memories and time when it was current and how well it's aged for me. 2. SNES - Mostly due to memories of it as current. Only a few games do I still actually play. 3. N64 - I just have a softspot for the quirky early 3D and controller 4. Wii U - I really adore this console and how well it's held onto some core gameplay mechanics without a lot of BS. 5. PSX - JRPGs!!!! Cool old platfomers. Cool Borders 3. 6. Genesis - Mostly the sound and arcadyenss 7. Gamecube - Loved the controller as much as anything. 8. 3DS - Just good games. Big fan of the clamshell. 9. GBA - Probably could be higher but I really only had a few games when it was current. 10. Vita - It's new to be but a beautiful screen and set of controls. Sad it's support didn't seem very good from Sony. Games - pff, 10? Sorry, I'm pretty typical on these. 1. Earthbound 2. Chrono Trigger 3. Mario 64 4. Quake 3 (DC / PC to be fair( 5. Goldeneye 6. FF7 7. FF9 8. Castle Crashers (loads of fun with my wife) 9. Snowboard Kids - I can ALWAYS pick up and play this. 10. Bust-A-Move Ask me tomorrow and those will change. Honorable mentions (I'll stop at 5...): 1. Body Harvest 2. 7th saga 3. Mario Kart 8 4. Animal Crossing: New Leaf 5. Bravely Default Lots of just great games but some games I can always pick up and play again. EDIT: And yes, no Atari. I just like you guys for some reason.
