Paul Westphal
OK. Three out of 5 work well. One is too red, and the other is black and white and have sound. I have checked and re-checked the order of components. Any ideas where to start? Should I de-solder and just start all over ?
Marius
I have absolutely no idea what I've just read.... Could you tell us more?
Paul Westphal
Problem one : one 600xl is black and white. Problem two : The other 600xl is too ' red ' - and I just noticed it's missing c109 blue cap marked 'R'. Let's start with the one that's too red. Does that blue cap make a difference? Paul Westphal
I just looked at another 600xl, and c109 is a round green cap marked 181j N150.
Paul Westphal
The problem two 'red' 600xl has a pink-white-blue cursor.
+orpheuswaking
Well maybe if you stopped calling Jeff "poop" it might work better I've run that mod on at least 7 or 8 units and they all had perfect output. I would go back and recheck your work, as well as solder bridges etc. Did you also check you didn't accidentally hit the Color POT? I would have hazard a guess the B&W woud be PAL, but all of the PAL units already had monitor ports.
Paul Westphal
Yeah, it's not the color pot. That would be to easy. I guess I will just start over, one by one.
Paul Westphal
I fixed the black and white one by running a jumper under a cap that did not have a good connection.
Paul Westphal
Fixed 'red' problem one by running a jumper to somewhere..I forgot, but it looks great. I just kept moving the wire from connection to connection until the picture cleaned up. Yellow is a tad flat, but all in all much better than RF.
