omegadot
So I tried this out for the first time today. For the uninitiated you tap an Amiibo and unlock a random game to play in 7 3 minute chunks. That Amiibo will then started 1 of 7 scenes for that game whenever they are tapped within the Amiibo Tap client thing. Like a more fleshed out version of what Super Smash Bros does with the classic demos. It's certainly no killer application but I did have a lot of fun with my son tapping my 5 different Amiibos to see what they brought. He was rather confused when Mario unlocked Kirby, but eh. I kinda like the 3 minute chunks. I know it's to to sell the Virtual Console games but I think it's fun to be dropped into the game with no need to go through pesky menus then see how far I can get in 3 minutes. I think it's a fun, if confusingly implemented extra. Anyone else used it?
Amstari
I agree it is fun. It would have been better to unlock a whole level than just give you 3 minutes to play. Unlocking one track on Mario Kart might be enough to tempt someone to buy the whole game.
KeeperofLindblum
I liked what Amiibo Tap is, but when I went through my small group of Amiibos... Everything I unlocked was a game I already had either on the virtual console or on a REAL console. XOStill pretty cool to see what all you can get out of it though! Metal Ghost
Yea, it's a cute idea. I agree that it's no killer app or anything mind blowing, but a fun little thing nonetheless.
