Ramp Rage - High Scores

Recommended Posts

Had a few tries today... Level 1 seems harder than v1.1. Ramps must be hit much faster to ensure a transition to the plane, and there don't seem to be as many targets. Or maybe I'm out of practice already. The boat/plane does seem to be a bit more responsive.

7420, Level 2. Normal.

This was on my "PAL" hybrid 800... I also tried it on a stock NTSC 800 and didn't notice much of a speed difference. What method are you using to detect the video system?

First player

yes well spotted! must have more speed to make the jumps (can pull down on the ramp for a little more) should be around the 3/4 mark on the gauge. Same # of targets (pseudo randomly placed). Baddies should be easier as I've reduced their extra moves with faster scrolling so more likely to destruct on the rocks. Level 2 already eh! That should now be much easier as the lock in time before you resume control is reduced.

NTSC/PAL I used the PAL flag and have manually set fixed scroll speeds that are comparable (in VBlank) - unlike doing things properly(!) however I'm running the player movement etc and game items in the main loop not the VB so these may differ - in the end I left them the same on NTSC and PAL. On one the boat can get from one side to the other more quickly but the screen is taller so I thought they were about ok. Let me know if you (anyone) play in future and think one is superior.

:)
