dafivehole
So I'm doing the Atarimax Happy upgrade on my 1050 and everything's going great until I go to reconnect the wiring... of course I pulled them off without paying attention and the pictures on the PDF file don't look anything like my connectors (see pictures). I sent Atarimax an email but I was wondering if anyone here has the same connectors and can help me reconnect these correctly without damaging anything? Thank you in advance, Roger
BillC
Your drive has the World Storage mechanism rather than the Tandon. dafivehole
Yes, I saw that on the drive... is that a bad thing? The drive has run like a champ for some time... Thanks, Roger
BillC
As far as I know there's not much difference in reliability between the Tandon and World Storage drives, just different manufacturing locations for each type. I added a link to a posting with a picture in my previous post.
dafivehole
The wire colors in that picture are the same as mine... can I just match up the wire colors in that order and plug them back in?!? Thanks, Roger UPDATE: I went ahead and copied that wire pattern and it worked perfectly! I now have a Happy 1050 !!! Thank you Bill !!! +DrVenkman
Glad you got things working. One of the first things I decided, when I saw the maze of spaghetti inside the 1050 with the 7 or 8 different cable harnesses in three locations around the board, was take multiple pics of things BEFORE I start screwing around with them, lol!
