StephenJ
I'm looking to get a pong system and I'm undecided between these two: [Magnavox 3000] and the [RadioShack TV Scoreboard 60-3051] Is there any reason to think one would operate better than the other (controls, display, quality of build, etc.) ? I like the looks of both of them...although I do like the more-retro look of the TV Scoreboard. Much appreciated, StephenJ
+save2600
Had a TV Scoreboard since I was a kid and like the variety of games (has a lightgun too remember) combined with the fact the paddles can be separated from each other so you don't have to sit so close to your opponent. -edit- Never mind ... see the 3000 has remote controllers also and am not familiar with that model TV Scoreboard. StephenJ
Hi save2600, The Radio Shack model I was referring to doesn't have the gun: https://www.popscreen.com/prod/MTU1Mjc0MTQ5/1976-Tandy-Radio-Shack-Electronic-TV-Scoreboard-603051-with-Box- ...but that doesn't matter to me. So I shouldn't expect one to be better than the other...operationally (controls, display, quality of build, etc.)? Thanks for the reply. +save2600
Can't answer the quality question, but if any pots or slide controls are dirty, can always clean/lubricate with Deoxit. Maybe check YouTube for vids on how the displays look. There are Pong units I haven't cared for in the past.. way they display the score, way the playfield is drawn, etc. You may prefer the look of one over the other... StephenJ
Just a follow-up... I wound up getting a TV Scoreboard on Ebay. It's in near-new condition and plays great. Thanks again, StephenJ
