santosp
Hello to all. Because of repeatable questions from members via p.m, I start this topic to check the public interest for one small round of 5 in 1 OSS cartridges. Some minor improvements. The remake will have the same white color shell, but in newest form like the latest 4MB MegaCart module. (Not possible. Because of the smaller size of plastic shell, 7 segment display not fit correctly.) Updated @ 12/11/15 A new improved decal as in Activision Combo Cart, but with the same graphic subject as on the first batch. A Blue 7 segment display vs Green on the first batch. Will include the corrected/debug Action version by JAC! member here. Updated @ 12/11/15 To start something like this I need 10 prepaid pre-orders. Total cost for each including shipping, will be 55$. As usual registered with a track number till your doors. If some of you are interested, please declare it here, as to make it possible. Greetings Panos. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/209842-oss-5in1-super-proper-cartridge/ Update @ 9/10/15 5:06 local Update @ 9/10/15 15:26 local Preorder time has finished. All the parts to construct the devices, have now ordered. adam242
Does this cart shell physically fit into the 800 and/or 1200XL? I have 3 of the 5 original OSS carts, but this is really tempting...
vazquezrick
I have one from your first run. I'll take one more. Will the second be different from the first?
santosp
@adam242 On 800XL yes, but not on 1200XL! As usual those enclosures fits OK to XE and XL line, except the 1200. @vazquezrick Some minor, but take a look at the first post here. ACML
Panos, Any chance you'd consider making a run of SIO2SD? I'd order three. Don't mean to hijack the thread, but the community needs an SIO2SD option that doesn't cost $130 with shipping.

But I see a total of 90$ shipped, although still isn't so cheap.

MrMartian
Is there room in the shell for the ROM to be in a socket? That way we could remove the chip if it needed to be reprogrammed...
santosp
From what I remember no. Isn't exist enough room on cartridge enclosure as to use a socket. Edited October 6, 2015 by santosp
Kyle22
I have one, and it looks as if there is room for a socket, which would be very nice. A socketed flash chip would be even better. Also, I have managed to use it on both an 800 and a 1200XL, but it requires a fair amount of force to insert / remove it. The use of a coarse flat file on the lower part of the cart sides will help this situation. A high speed grinding tool such as a Dremel, followed by a sharp X-Acto type knife to remove the burrs should also work.
