icemanxp300
Now the tracking info has been updated to "arrived at post office." How can a package FIRST be "out for delivery," and LATER "arrive at the post office"? Easy they put it on the wrong truck! I have had this happen before, usually the DC will state "undeliverable as addressed" and it will go back to the PO. However one thing I know for a fact is that USP will HIDE updates that do not play in there favor. You can check a status and if you catch it at the right time you will see what is "actually" going on. However soon as they get a chance to hide the mistake it will be gone from any updates you will be able to see. I complained to the divisional team a few months ago about my packages "I sent" not being delivered fast enough and I specifically complained about a package that had left the same sorting facility 3 times in the same day. I had a screenshot of it and he didn't know at first. So he was talking to me like I could only see what I was suppose to see. Soon as I told him I had a screenshot of what it use to say and gave him exact times he changed his whole attitude about the situation. So don't believe everything you can see in the tracking is the entire story of that package. It is very likely a mistake occurred and they rerouted the package but erased the mistake information being viewed in the tracking box you can see. Only the USPS can see "everything" that tracking should show all the time.
RodLightning
Now the tracking info has been updated to "arrived at post office." How can a package FIRST be "out for delivery," and LATER "arrive at the post office"? I had that happen once. The package was sent out for delivery to the wrong local route, in my case across town. The delivery driver returned it for resorting and my package finally arrived two days later. Tracking status can change each time the package is scanned. It's sometimes more frustrating to view the tracking information in real time, especially this time of year.
+intvsteve
The package from Rev I've got tracking info for says it should be delivered on December 4 (yesterday), but the status itself hasn't been updated since Dec. 2 (Departed USPS facility in NC). *sigh* And Amazon's dropping the ball too, on a simple little old book, already two days late. But they at least have the ability to tell me it's been delayed from their end.
Nutsy Doodleheimer
Here is my USPS trouble from Thursday...This is how my package was left in my mailbox! It was not shipped in the plastic bag so apparently it was abused, put in the plastic bag and then molested before getting delivered. It was also severely water damaged on the address label side. This was my VecItrex controller kit Seems like people don't really care. I am sorry about that. About 4 or 5 years ago I ordered an Atari 7800 console. And can you believe that it was shipped in a bubble eenvelope!!?? I remembered when I got it. It was shattered. I was literally pissed. A video game console sent out in a large envelope?!?! I contacted them and made damn sure I got a refund and I gladly did. Stupid asses!

Hyperboy
You probably would have been ecstatic (if) your package of overlays arrived like this

Eric7100
My experience is that, especially considering the holiday season, it was likely loaded on a truck, but they ran out of time. Sometimes they work late and deliver at night, but otherwise it goes back to the post office (hence the status update to 'arrival at post office') with intent to deliver the following day. I never thought of this, Jason. But if they run out of time, why not keep it on the truck overnight, rather than unloading it back into the post office, and then reloading it back into the truck the following day? Eric7100
Update: I misread the tracking. Apparently it was 'delivered at mailbox' yesterday afternoon. I still think they just marked it as delivered, but left it in the truck...at least I hope. You better get your package, Jason!
Eric7100
It's sometimes more frustrating to view the tracking information in real time, especially this time of year. I guess it's better NOT to follow the tracking info sometimes. What you don't know, can't hurt you.
Eric7100
Well, it finally arrived this evening. It is one day late... and yes, it did arrive on a separate truck from the regular mail, which arrived earlier in the day. As far as the package goes, no biggie. But the tracking info was a royal pain in the ass. From yesterday to today, it went from "out for delivery," then to "arrived at post office," and then to "delivered at front door/porch." I wish they would make sure that their tracking info logically makes sense as you read it from start to finish. That's the USPS, for you. +JasonlikesINTV
A good way to treat tracking is like a friend you trust 85% of the time. You can have them water your plants, but don't have them dust your antique faberge egg collection.

Nutsy Doodleheimer
Glad the package finally arrived. Always a breath of fresh air especially at a time it is something you really want and anticipate to receive, you get a worst case scenario of something like that to occur. All in all glad it's safe.

freewheel
Take a piece of friendly advice here: unless it's your insulin, sitting around and watching the hourly/daily tracking of a parcel is pointless and just leads to needless stress. I order from all over the place and stuff arrives via all sorts of mechanisms (Canada Post to the door, mailbox, and postal outlet - UPS - FexEx - DHL - Carrier Pigeon) and they ALL LIE ABOUT TRACKING. End of story. It'll get there when it gets there. If they say it's "delivered" and it's not, that's when you worry. But sitting there pondering "hey, it was out for delivery today but I never got it"? The guy could have been called back. Gotten sick. Had a flat tire. Went out drinking with his buddies. Got attacked by a horde of angry chihuahuas. Visited the local bordello. Ended up in a casino past closing. Anything is possible. Trying to understand the inner workings of a multi-billion dollar corporation and how it affects your $20 Amazon order is just going to give you grey hair.
