spamh8r
Has anyone here had a chance to play with this? It looks pretty epic to me, but I don't have the hardware to give it a try. I have to remember to keep my collection to Atari 8-bit stuff or I'll be a certifiable hoarder. They claim: GUI MULTITASKING 1024KB DYNAMIC MEMORY 2TeraByte FILESYSTEM http://symbos.org/
Amstari
I've used it on my CPC 6128. It's interesting but I don't really use it. Maybe if I get a memory expansion and hard drive one day. I read that there will be a TCP/IP stack to connect to the internet.
flashjazzcat
The claims are all perfectly accurate and the OS is an incredible achievement. If you want to run something similar on the A8, you'll have to wait until the WIP GOS mentioned in my signature is complete. It owes much to SymbOS, uses a similar API, pre-emptively multitasks and the author of SymbOS has really helped a lot in a consultant capacity.
