+OLD CS1
Well, that did not take long: DMCA complaint from System
carlsson
I read on Facebook that they will submit a counter-DMCA. The claim from Mark Cale supposedly contains many factual errors, including passing off Anthony Lees as dead, which he is not! Very classy, and if anything it will give System 3 very much badwill in case they're really going ahead with a HD remake of Last Ninja in 2017. A lot of people probably would buy it anyway, but a big part of the fan base may be at stake. Edited March 8, 2016 by carlsson
+OLD CS1
Yeah, my original post had more information and my own break-down of the notice, but I decided to just let people read for themselves. It seemed way more than just vigorously defending the brand, especially considering that anyone who is familiar with the remix scene or keeps up with the gaming scene is well aware of the differences between the Fastloaders' remix and System 3's 30th anniversary remake of the game. That notwithstanding, the project page has changed its disclaimer at the footer of each page to be more emphatic that it is a fan project with no ties to the company what-so-ever.
