Meddler
I have been trying to think of a use for my redundant TI99/4A and now think that I have answered my own question. What can you usefully do with a basic console? I was initialy thinking of Home Automation or Greenhouse control but these are easier done with conventional methods. It turns out that any two-axis motor control is possible with all the computing power you could want for such things as:Solar panel Sun tracking; Telescope tracking; x-y table; Crane control. The two Tape-recorder opto-outputs are available for motor driving and the two Joystick driver outputs can be used for forward/reverse control relays and there are several key lines available for tacho. input.Unfortunately, I have no use for any of these so do you have any other ideas? I put this idea forward in case it is of interest to anyone, best wishes all.
Omega-TI
Well a straight BASIC console is of more use than a TS1000! The best use so far is to stick the Rasmus Atarisoft Compilation on a cart, plug it in and viola, a dedicated 'RETRO' arcade machine.
