Is someone in the position to help the TI community?

TI-ARTIST (update)

Does anyone out there in the TI community have 'GOOD QUALITY' documentation for all of the

TI-Artist program(s)? Right now everything floating around out in the wild looks like a copy of a copy done on an old 1960's vintage Xerox. It would be fantastic if we could get some good scans. I'm not not talking OCR quality stuff, just something that people would feel good enough about to print up and use.

If you have the documentation, and are willing to take the job on for the community as a whole, you'll be helping these programs live on for another generation.

Thanks.

I do have most of the Notung Software products original masters still.

Ken,

That sounds GREAT! Would you be willing to share PDF copies and possibly disk images of your goodies with our not so little community here?

BTW -It's nice to see one of the TI-Masters show up here! Welcome! :)

Thanks for the welcome and the support of my TI products... I'm a little surprised any one even remembers me lol

...and sorry I've hijacked this thread

I've been meaning to do pdf scans of those manuals... I've under a little time pressure on my current project but I'll try to squeeze it in when I do have some time or after by deadline at the end of April. For a hint of what I'm doing now on computers, look at my website at www.songbirdremix.com (3d digital bird models)

That's no hijack, it's welcomed! I understand about time constraints. I'm sure many of us are looking forward to those manuals when you get around to it. BTW, that website looks familiar... wasn't I just there a couple of days ago? ;)

I have always admired Kens work. TI casino is just a gem.

Ken, do you have any copies left of your TPA and not go insane?

I'd love to get my hands on one.

Being an old newsletter editor I kept trying TPA but insanity kept creeping in.

Sparkdrummer,

I have a question for you... how would you print this manual? Would you flip it on the long or short side? I'm not quite sure how this one would come out... :?

Thanks, Casino was a fun project for me.

TPA and insanity? "Heh, heh, heh... I'll show you some pagemanship!" (says the crazy guy on the cover of the book). TPA was a great program and did quality type setting for it's time. I'll never forget my friend, with his brand new Macintosh, not believing I was doing newsletter better than this on my TI-99/4a.

I dug through my TI stuff and managed to find 3 copies of the TPA book in good condition, each with their companion disks (whether the disk still works may be another a story). I'll be willing to give two of them up (keeping a copy of myself).

I have still have masters of all my programs and shareware, as well as some of Ray Kazmer's work (who passed in 1998 and gave me the rights to his work). Unfortunately, I have no way to look at them anymore (my TI is in storage and has some issues). I love to get some of my programs on a PC emulator. I might be willing loan out my masters in exchange for that.

Emperor Ken:

Please put me down for one of the copies of TPA - Insane. I always admired how your pages turned out on anything you published - included you catalogs and manuals. Of course your artistic talents are second to none.

I was the final newsletter editor for the VAlley of the Sun TI99'ers (VAST) users group in Phoenix, AZ and feel that I pushed the use of PagePro and PagePro Composer to the limit.

Also - You wouldn't happen to have any TI disks in your stack that have the program modules for FIVE CARD STUD, WHEEL OF FORTUNE or HORSE RACING for TI-CASINO? I always kinda hoped I would see those added.

Finally - I'd love to help you out with a TI emulator but I don't use them and don't have the foggiest idea on how to set all your fine stuff up.

OMEGA - I download that pdf and the pages are not all set the same way - I don't think there is any way to print where they read correctly as a booklet.

Course I remember you. I spent too much $ calling your BBS from Newbury Park in my teens until I started The KEEP BBS up and I'm pretty sure we were both at la99ers meetings with Ray (RIP) and Steve Mehr.. or fest West :)

Wow... someone who remembers my BBS (which was one of the first TI-99/4a powered BBS back in 1984). The KBGB (Cal-Tex) BBS morphed into "Emperor Ken's World" when Compuserve offered the first-ever "personal" webpages and I still run it today... wow, 32 years of running an online site... Is that even possible? lol. I remember the Keep ;)

I did show up quite a bit at the LA 99ers, although the San Fernando Valley 99ers was my group and I was President for most of it's life. Steve Mehr and I still trade Christmas cards.

Okay-- the two original copies of "How to Use the Printer's Apprentice (...And Not Go INSANE!) are spoken for... Moonsweeper (because he asked first) and Ksarul get them. I'll have to figure out a way to get them to you both. PM me and we'll figure out the details.

For those who wanted one who weren't on the list, I do have the original masters of that too, so I'll add that to my "to scan to pdf" list (although that will be minus the companion disk).

Cool The KEEP is still up at thekeep.net too :) in the late 80s i went multiline with majorbbs/worldgroup and then moved to oregon in 93 where I had the most active system until the internet killed bbs'ing.. I still keep it online with one line so you can dialout to Richard Bell's TI based BBS which is also still online :)

I didn't do any of those for TI Casino, though I do still have some notes and graphic paper plots for a possible horse racing add-on I consider doing in the late 90's. I did do two add-ons to the original TI Casino; an Acey-Ducey game introduced with TI-Casino v3.3 (1992) and a Casino Solitaire add-on (1996). The Solitaire game (my last TI program) was written on the V9T9 emulator and imported into standard TI format.

I have my "TI" page back up now on my website (which is under going renovations making in cell phone/tablet friendly via bootstrap format). Eventually I'll add more pages to the TI section with PDF manuals, more imagery and maybe some downloads (I have TI Casino in V9T9 Format)
