With very few exceptions, the answer is always 'no'. Game disks are almost always 'protected', to make it difficult to see the files and to copy them.

 

Fortunately for us many games have been deprotected and hard disk adapted by smart and dedicated coders, so you can put this version on your hard drive: http://atari.8bitchip.info/SCRSH/stargl.html

Probably ggn is right considering that load in one go - so remember I too. But that, and lack of copy protection is not enough for hard disk install. Game needs AUTO run, hard disk driver occupies RAM area used by game - usual problems. Whole idea is just bad - buying original and then talking about hard disk install :)

Btw. mine adapt supports monochrome mode too.
