Shift838
I decided I wanted to hook up my TI-99/4a that has the F18A video upgrade to my IOGEAR 2 port DVI switch box model # GCS932ub. https://www.iogear.com/product/GCS932UB/ It also has MIC and audio connectors. It's a DVI-D input. I have not been able to successfully find an adapter for it. I have tried to hook up a VGA to DVI Analog (vga male to DVI Analog female). I think I need a VGA to DVI Analog female then a DVI Analog male to DVI D Female then I can hook up the IOGear cable. Does this sound right or am I pursuing something that can't be done this way? DVI analog to DVI digital? Sounds like A Kind Of Magic. Or a lot of hardware for frame grabbing.
Shift838
Right now I just have it hooked up to my VGA input of my monitor and just have to press that switch to get it changed. Not a big deal really. Just instead of pressing one button on the switch box, I need to press a few times to select the input on the monitor from the menu button. Call it LAZY... +jedimatt42
http://www.datapro.net/news/faq-how-do-i-go-from-dvi-to-vga.html That IOGEAR model, I'm pretty sure, only handles digital video. So as Mizapf said, a lot of hardware. Amazon thinks it is either $1200 worth of hardware, or $50 http://smile.amazon.com/Format-Hardware-Converter-Convert-Digital/dp/B01AUKRHEG/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1460239223&sr=8-14&keywords=vga+to+dvi-d I don't know the quality of that though. -M@
+OLD CS1
Could probably go VGA-HDMI (I have seen converters around $50 - $75, my favorite being the "Hammerhead,") then use a passive HDMI-DVI-D adapter or cable with HDMI on one end and DVI-D on the other (the signalling is compatible.) EDIT: OOOOO!! I just found this: Moray VGA to HDMI in-line converter cable
