Majdachi
Hi all, can someone please tell me how much a 9900 Corcomp with all cards installed (32k, RS-232, and disk controller) is worth ? Many thanks...
+Ksarul
They normally sell for between $180 and $250 when they are available, with most sales at the high end of that scale. They do not become available very often though. . .most of the ones that do show up don't have the daughter-board for the Disk Controller and 32K components (these are on one board, the RS-232 board is the base configuration).
Majdachi
I might get one with all cards inside for 300 $ and the 2 disk drives for it later for 100 $, all working, is that a good price ? Thank you friend...
ti99iuc
I Think that if the micro expansion is in working good condition the price is correct. if it can help, you can see one of the latest auction ended in ebay: it was from 2014 but the price was always about this price. Lastely i never seen listed anymore. the total for $400-$450 drives included i think it could be ok. RickyDean
Okay thank you very much for all :. I will post the photos of my system once i get it all setup... You might consider a Floppy Emulator such as a HxC http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/index.htmlor a Gotek, though the HxC is basically plug and play

Omega-TI
Please give your opinion They don't have a fan, so they are very quiet. Unless you want to use a special card like a SAMS, they function quite nicely and the DSDD is nice to have as well. Nice score.
RickyDean
Please give your opinion Look good to me, now adding to those drives, an aforementioned HxC or Gotek and a 3.5 disk drive, would give you a lot of storage options.
Majdachi
Thank you all, i will bother you again before plugging the hxc, a million thanks :.
Majdachi
By the way, is it possible to save XB programs on the HxC ? any info is very appreciated. Thank you :. Edited April 15, 2016 by Majdachi
RickyDean
By the way, is it possible to save XB programs on the HxC ? any info is very appreciated. Thank you :. I do not have a HxC currently( I am currently upgrading a Gotek that did not have switches or such, also a floppy emulator), but there is plenty of information here in these forums about the device and some about the Gotek also. The HxC looks like a floppy drive in the system, so anything you place on a floppy can be placed on a HxC. A HxC is a floppy emulator, if you google it or the term floppy emulator you will find a load of information. Hope this helps.
Majdachi
I will, thank you :.
+Ksarul
Note: the HxC emulates the floppy drive, that emulation does not emulate the disk controller. You still need the controller to connect it to your TI, but then the TI sees it just like any other attached drive.
Majdachi
I heard the CC 9900 supports up to 4 drives, connecting the HxC to the CC controller will do the job?
+Ksarul
It should work fine. If it can be selected as drive 3 or 4, you should be good to go. If it only works as drive 1 or 2, you might need to change the jumpers on the physical drives to get everything working in harmony. The CC9900 does support 4 drives.
