Ebay prices for Tandy Color compter stuff has really risen in last few years. Trying to pickup boxed games, utilities, etc. There is an auction for Micro Illustrator for coco and guy wanted 10.52 for it. Not a crazy price, but had a best offer tab with auction. So sent first bid in I think 7.50 and declined immediately, so put in 8.00 and it was sent to seller. Then get counteroffer of 9.95, so 0.57 savings. Just made me little mad, just don't have best offer tab if want full price for the item. This just really gets me about ebay sellers sometimes. One time had guy counter with 5 cent off his asking price again if want full price don't include offer tab with auction.

$.57 is about 5% off, which isn't a lot, but it is a discount. I list items this way and generally I am willing to take an offer around 10% less than my asking price. Maybe you shouldn't take it so personal and send him a counteroffer.

The "Retro Scene" becoming chic and being talked about on radio and TV has created a bubble and gotten the attention of speculators (aggressive collectors, not like us who use the stuff.) Amiga stuff has gotten ridiculous, TI stuff is manic, and, though in general not too bad, I have seen some stupid asking prices for Commodore stuff. Over-all, though, pricing has increased a good bit. There are a few places on the web I will hit first if something on eBay grabs my interest.

 

There is the other side of the "best offer." I had several hard drives, I wanna say like a dozen, wiped and tested good. I had them up for BIN at $100 or make a best offer. The auto-accept was set for $80, and anything lower I would manually consider over the 48 hour period. A guy offered $75 so, like any haggler, I countered with $80. He countered with $75! If he did not like my counter he should have done what I did and have done for other offers: ignore the counter-offer. They did sell for the $100. Asshole.
