Ralph090
I just recently picked up a TI99/4A at a thrift store, however it is missing its "w" key. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

The W key? You might have a collectors item there... it might have been in the White House!
+arcadeshopper
there's like 4 different kinds of keyboards.. can you put up a picture of the missing key that will help determine which kind it was, there's ones with a box shape the keys fit in, there's ones with a plus shape pin the keys sat on.. black, beige
+Ksarul
Yeah, there are a lot of variables when it came to the keytops. If you show us a picture of the spot where your "W" should be, we can figure out if any of us has a spare of the right type of replacement key. Ralph090
Does this help? http://imgur.com/qajudT7
+Ksarul
It does, you have the original keytop style. This is the most reliable one out there (although you may occasionally get multiple letters--or even no letters at all with some keys). When it does have issues, a bit of contact cleaner or a careful alcohol swabbing between the little metal fingers and the key will work as good as new. You can also clean the key contacts by just tapping the key a hundred or so times in succession, as that cleans the gunk off too. I'll have to look to see if I have any of this type of keytops in my spare parts bin. . .although someone else may be able to find one first.
