dos
I have an Apple IIe unenhanced with a Rev.B motherboard and Apple 80 column card properly jumpered, video output is to an Apple color composite monitor. I'm unable to get a single double hires game to work and I've heard conflicting things about this, do I need to be using an enhanced IIe for these games to work or is it possible with just the trifecta of Rev.B, 80col card, and composite display? If so does anyone know what would be preventing this stuff from working?
whiteplanet
Your Apple IIe is fine. It is not the source of your problem. You need to have the right 80 column card. Double Hi-Res requires 128K of memory. So you need to have the EXTENDED 80 column card and not the just 80 column card. The 80 column card only has 1K on ram on board. Then you can play all your Double Hi-Res games you want. This information is in your Apple IIe Technical Reference Manual. (If you have a copy) Or just goto this link. http://apple2.boldt.ca/?page=til/tn.aiie.003
