+davidcalgary29
I note that my 7800 power supplies come in two different shapes: one is a standard square, while the other is more wedge-shaped. Can anyone advise when the two different PSes were released?
CPUWIZ
I think one of them came with the older 7800 system that still had the expansion port.
Miqorz
I think one of them came with the older 7800 system that still had the expansion port. You mean the 84 and 86 models?
Clock
I have 2 of the newer models (PAL) and both are wedge shaped. Although one is black and the other blue. I don't know why. So I assume the square one is for the older (expansion port) model.
+Mitch
I have about four different US 7800 power supplies. I haven't ever tried dating them though. Mitch

Viso
I got a mid 1984 unit second hand. The power supply I got with it is a black box with a partly slanted side. I guess you could call that wedge like, but it isn't much of a wedge. One of the sides has a shape like this: /--| / | |___| Sorry about the less than wonderful formatting -- it's a limitation of this board. Just take out the extra empty lines and it looks fine.
