+FujiSkunk
Hello all. I'm in the market either to have a ColecoVision console modded for component or S-video, or to buy a console already modded (plus audio through RCA jacks). My goal is to have consoles with the best picture the original video hardware is capable of, and my understanding is the ColecoVision internals are capable of the signals necessary for component video. That should mean I want component or bust, but for what I actually use these consoles for, S-video would also be good enough. If I go with having one of my existing consoles modded, I should probably get it cleaned as well. I have two ColecoVision, and both are exhibiting the tell-tale signs of dirty power switches and cartridge ports. So any modding service that can offer a cleaning as well would be great. I've also read (courtesy of our own doubledown) that the better ColecoVision video mods sacrifice the ability to play Atari 2600 games using Expansion Module #1. That's fine with me, whether it's getting my own console modded or buying one modded this way. Either way I'll still have at least one unmodded Coleco that I can throw the expansion module on if I ever get the hankering. I know what services like this have cost in the past, and what modded consoles have sold for, and that's the ballpark I'd like to aim for, but really I'm willing to entertain any and all offers at this point. Thanks!
Bmack36
I sell and modify systems. If you want Expansion Module 1 compatability there are a couple options. You can either do the composite video mod and all the video would go out of the Composite jack. You could get a F18a upgrade and have the cv video and audio go out through VGA or HDMI and the EM1 video go out through a seperate composite mod. If you are interested check out my FB page.
