+jedimatt42
I was just looking at the pcboard for my speech synthesizer, and noticed something strange. The piggy-backed chip in there only seems to be soldered on one side. Anybody see this before? I'm too tired to take apart my other speech synthesizers ( this one was on my Rave PEB card ) but will have to take a good look at them tomorrow.. It is kind of a weird (wierd == something I've never seen before) chip too. CD2326A-NL, doesn't appear to make any contacts on that side of the chips. I suppose that is just how these ROMs are packaged... saves on solder -M@
+Ksarul
I've never looked that closely at them. I'll have to take a look at one of mine to see what it looks like. . .
+OLD CS1
That "whooshing" sound is a whole bunch of people opening their Speech Synthesizers...
Stuart
The 28-pin speech synthesiser memory chips only have internal connections on pins 1 - 14. They appear as one-bit (serial) or four-bit (parallel) output.

It freaked me out at first glance, wondering how it functioned. -M@
