RJ
What 2600 games don't use but play OK w/out the fire button? (besides to re/start a game) So far: (Ms.)Pac-Man Maze Craze (no "flashlight") Frogger Freeway Superman (no X-ray vision) Activision Gran Prix (I seem to recall using L/R to accelerate/brake) Any others? If this has been posted before, please link me- thx!

rasty
What 2600 games don't use but play OK w/out the fire button? Got a broken joystick? Anyway Space Treat (Deluxe) doesn't require the fire button during the game.. Regards, Rasty.-
RJ
Yeah...I plan to leave a 2600 at my folks' place for the grandkids to play...I thought I'd get some games that DON'T use the button to give the (good) working sticks a rest...keep 'em coming! ATARI TROLL
ANY PACMAN RELATED GAME TO INCLUDE MS & JR PACMAN. CRAZY CLIMBER. ADVENTURE DOESNT REALLY REQUIRE THE FIRE BUTTON. THATS JUST A FEW.
Room 34
ADVENTURE DOESNT REALLY REQUIRE THE FIRE BUTTON. Well... you CAN play Adventure without the button. But it'll mean not being able to choose where you drop objects, and it also means you could never use the bridge, except in the spot it's in at the start of the game! sku_u
Also Berzerk. It's actually more challenging to get them to walk into the walls without shooting them.
TaoNakamora
Most of those games are OK but besides Pacman related games IE Ms. Jr. which are really fun to play? I mean, really
RJ
Thanks for the lists so far! I should say "games you stand a chance in", as playing Asteroids or Space Invaders w/out firing isn't much fun... Regarding my own post above, the PSX version of Gran Prix (on Activision Classics) uses "x" to speed up, so the 2600 cart may use the fire button too. However, PSX Dolphin doesn't use a button, but does the 2600 cart? (I should know better; I LOVED that game & beat it!)
Pitfall Harry
It is possible to get through the first five levels of H.E.R.O. without using the Fire button. You can also make it all the way down to the screen with the miner in level six, but you can't rescue him. Ben
