Importance of practicing scales

Playing any scales and arpeggios with the proper technique ensures easy and fluid movement without physical discomfort. Also, when you are familiar with all scales, you can quickly identify key signatures and recognize patterns while playing pieces. You’ll also find that your hands are ready for all the sharps and flats without your brain consciously reminding yourself. Additionally, you can learn chord structure through arpeggios. For example, the arpeggios of major scales teach you major chords, while those of minor scales teach you minor chords.

There is also the other way round.

At the end you get your learned impression in prior to what is real.

You automatically find a chord in any piece of music and don't get the sense of the music itself. Actually, people lose the sense for music.

Seeing guys showing chords on mistuned guitars... I did link a video earlier in the thread.

That's why "number one" hits often could get sung by crows that find the correct pitch for the defined chord.

Example:

When the Radio Station started to play this song , I quit listen to the Radio station till today.

My point was: if you want to break the rules try to know them for start. I like jazz music and I think I can sense when a "wrong note" is the right one ;)

Video hack alert ;)

In theory , I'm a Daft Punk fan. Even if 20 years too old ;)

Found myself tapping to this while listing ...

It's "ripped" from Makary Browner's video . Own instruments at 64kHz. :D

Flying with Pokey at 1:02 ;)

I should try a 15kHz version, too.. :D

Nice pokey conversion.  But man does it ever show that pokey was a sound effects generator for 70s arcade machines while the SID was made to play music and basically morphed into Ensoniq synthesizers.  That's OK though - I'll wait for everyone to tell me how much better pokey is than sid.

That conversion  though - completely in tune, sounds like the original, just a scratchier lo-fi version of it.  Can't wait for emkay to come along and butcher it while telling the author what he did wrong :)

Your words: You are deaf. Definitely.

Most of the tune is correct, but every higher note is like a different tune is playing, and you don't hear that.

Do you even know what harmonics are?

Bass: Pokey perfect

Arpeggios, very good

Synth: Not "dying " but drunken cats". Up and downs in the synth cause naupathia.

My PC speakers have only frequency response 20 - 20000 Hz :( Maybe this is a reason why this tune sounds right for me? :D

It's what you point toward me.

The "learned automatic chord recognition" makes you blind for the real played frequency.

That's why POKEY can replay this tune.

The bass is a shooting among the aimed frequency.  The Polycounter Bass is perfect for this.

The modulation slide bass as in the original Song isn't to be reached, but the musically part is there.

Interesting Video:

This version makes a split in the arpeggios to fit to the bass and the synth.

Also it's set to not to sound too much like crazy chickens.

Also some softening in the high tone Synth...

it's a bit less wrong until 0:44 where it still goes very wrong...

I'm going to suggest something different: Warhawk (but it's an .XM) https://www.terrybutler.co.uk/2009/10/06/mod-monday-5/

There's a bunch more which may be good candidates for conversions:

It's simply no 3 channel Chip arrangement.

That's the part where my "being not a musician" jumps in. ;)

The tune needs a different rearrangement, not just some fitting chords.

I'll check. Thanks

I'd certainly have never known it was supposed to sound like this without the title.  Sounds like a low quality headphone playing an AM radio signal from 100 miles away while fingernails are being dragged down a chalkboard.  Guess I really am the deaf one.
