kisrael
Hey there! Does any company make decent handheld joysticks for the 7800? Like one of those clicky arcade stick ones? I'd be willing to shell out to some extent if it was good stuff. Failing that, what are good options? Obviously used 7800 sticks. I know even Genesis pads don't quite work w/o rewiring (not a fan of pads anyway for old school gameplay...)
CRTGAMER
Too bad the Genesis Pad does not have 7800 two button support out of the "box", but then it can be modded. The good thing is many 7800 games work with the one button 2600 stick and there are tons of third party options. My favorites are the Wico Bat and the beautiful Epyx 500XJ with solid click switches inside.
Trebor
Edladdin sells several Arcade-quality joystick models for the 2600/7800. They also sell a Genesis adapter that will allow full compatibility with any Genesis gamepad or joystick [buttons B and C for Left (1) and Right (2), respectively.] It would be extremely hard pressing to find a true mass-produced "handheld" fully-compatible 7800 (2-independent buttons) joysticks, made currently, outside of the system default ones and clones already manufactured previously (AKA "N"ew "O"ld "S"tock). For just 2600 compatibility, available new (and in considerable quantity), there is the Competition Pro Joystick and Kraft Starmaster, as some possibilities. The fine Epyx 500XJ mentioned is also a good choice. A special place in my heart for the TAC-2 as well, is an option.

I make a Sega Genesis to Atari 7800 controller adapter. $18 plus + $4 shipping, more details at the link below http://atariage.com/forums/topic/249239-sega-genesis-to-atari-7800-controller-adapter-for-sale/
