Screen goes nuts on bright white color (PAL 2600jr)

Hi all,

 

Here on my desk I have a 2600JR pal. I have another one which does not have the issue in the same setup, so there must be something wrong with the one with the problem.

 

I'm looking for help. This is the case:

 

When I play a game with very bright colors the screen goes nuts. Other colors: no problem.

Let's take Enduro, which is a good example. At a certain moment you are with your car on a road with snow and ice. This is very bright. The top side of the screen is ok, and the bottom side of the screen is moved a few cm to the right and it is disturbed.

 

I tried all kind of settings on my television set, but it does not change at all. I also tried channel #2 and channel #3 switch setting. I'm on RF (not AV modded 2600). It's a PAL system and the game is also PAL.

On the other atari 2600jr the screen is good.

 

So my question is:

what can cause this issue, and is it easy to fix?

 

I tried to make a picture but that failed... if my description of the problem is not clear, I could try to picture it again.

I would guess it is your TV. Have you tried a different one?

That was my first idea too, but I have another 2600jr 100% same computer, and then the image is right on the same television.

 

I do not have another tube TV in reach to test.
