walter_J64bit
I've just put my copy of Song of the South for Laserdisc on ebay, I know we have some Laserdisc collectors here! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Laserdisc-Song-Of-The-South-Laserdisc-Import-from-Japan-RARE-/292023889704?hash=item43fdfaef28:g:3DEAAOSw4CFYnHmW Edited February 13, 2017 by walter_J64bit

Must be insanely rare considering the movie was released in 1946.
CRTGAMER
The Japan only release Laser Disc is rare, Disney will never release the film on DVD or BlueRay because of the stereotype of people; a past wrong common of another era. Not outright derogatory, but I can see where the movie can be viewed as offensive. Still, an older movie worth owning for the history. I scored a DVD copy from an independent video store that archived it from the Laser disc. A decent transfer considering it had to be converted from analog to digital. 7800fan
Company complains they are losing money to piracy. I would like to challenge Disney to prove they are losing money to illegal DVD copies of Song of the South. (not supporting piracy, just pointing out sometimes the big company is all hot wind about illegal activities and claim DRM stuff is the only solution when it's only band-aid fix)
masschamber
Interesting that the title is actually in Kanji. Foreign products in Japan are rarely written in anything but katakana. The Kanji translates to song of the South for anyone interested enough to ask.

Mayhem
Erm, no it isn't. The VHS was officially released in the UK, but there's never been an official DVD release of the film, ever. Bits of the film can be found on other Disney DVDs though.
towmater
You're right, i may be mis-remembering a VHS release.
