Shift838
I am looking at my Flex Cable interface card and I am wondering what type of capacitors these are for C1 to C7. I know they are .1uf, but they look like some type of glass capacitors. Can use just a standard axial .1uf 35v or 50v capacitor or do they need to be of t his type ?
+Ksarul
Pretty much any 104 capacitors should work fine there. The glass types are getting pretty hard to find. I have a few of them (of mixed values) that I was able to buy a while back, but I think there were only three .1uF caps in the whole lot (and they were what I wanted for a board I wanted to build with proper period components). You will also find the glass caps on a lot of TI's cartridge boards--making that a good place to harvest some good ones if you want to stay with glass caps. Shift838
I noticed 104 stamped on them. Had no clue what it was. I figured if I stuck with the same values and the 104 whatever that means i was safe.
+Ksarul
A 104 is a standard number marking for a .1uF filter capacitor. Here's a useful chart that shows them all.

I believe this one would work then: https://www.jameco.com/z/P20R104K5-F-Capacitor-0-1-uF-50-Volt-X7R-10-Axial_536542.html
+Ksarul
Those will work perfectly. I usually buy that type in lots of a thousand or two from China for the cartridge boards I build. . .
