TMR
3 catagories: 1: BASIC and how well it was implemented 2: graphics and sound comparison 3: games that showcased both the computer's strengths and weaknesses You might want to post this in "Classic Computing" since it's got nothing to do with either Atari 5200 or 8-bit programming...
Rybags
Which TRS-80? The Colour Computer? Amstrad CPC wins in most departments here but has the advantage of being over 5 years later. TRS-80 original IMO punched above it's weight with some games. Maximum use of limited hardware and Ram, many games looked and sounded primitive but had gameplay that would probably still stand up today. Bryan
You don't realize how special smooth full-screen scrolling is until you look for it on other machines.
Rybags
Not to mention independant part screen scrolling - with some machines you can use harware exploits to fudge scrolling but it's usually an all or nothing thing.
Bryan
The CoCo was always kinda sad to me. It has the wonderful 6809, but it's otherwise hampered by lousy hardware straight from Motorola data books.
