Arnuphis
Hello, I wonder if someone can answer this for me. On my Apple Iigs the start beep is nice and loud but when I launch games the music and sound effects are barely audible through the speaker. Is there a volume setting I am unaware of or is something else going on? Thanks in advance.
Bloodnose
Try plugging in headphones or speakers to the jack on the back to see if you experience the same. This might help isolate a problem with the sound circuitry or the speaker.
Arnuphis
The system beep is nice and loud. It's just that games that use the GS sound chip are super quiet. I am sending it off for a recap to see if that fixes the issue. Can't hurt!
R.Cade
The sound levels are adjustable in the control panel.
Arnuphis
Yes and the system beep is nice and loud when you turn it up. Again it's the sound effects in games that are deathly quiet and almost inaudible. My Rom 1 GS does have this issue only the Rom 3 one. Airshack
I have the same issue on my Rom3 GS. Any known fixes?

Tempest
Generally low sound volume is in indication that some capacitors are going. Try plugging in a pair of headphones and see if the volume is louder. I had a very similar issue on an old Mac SE/30.

I sent a PM to you with contact details on someone in your area that can probably lend a hand, probably just to be kind. Sorry if it seems oddly phrased or, 'out of the blue'.
