Pac-Man Patterns and Gameplay

i've gotten to the killscreen in the arcade pacman, (and home emulators), and on non fixed killscreens gotten to 7.1 million on the xbox 360 using patterns.

so yeah, the 9th key pattern can work indefinitely, if you don't mess up, and if you do, and know how to recover, you can keep going.

on ms pac-man, there are pseudo patterns. basically, you go to the hiding spots, and let the ghosts group together.

from that point on (boards below 21 where they blink), you can do the same routine, and get all the ghosts on the energizers.

for the boards past 21, where they don't blink, you put the ghosts into a holding pattern, and then can lead them around and

clear the 2 boards that alternate (junior and chase board).

there are many killscreen games, and games showing these on youtube, look up aart van vliet, or velvet rolo to see them.

no one's gotten to 1 million on the arcade, because of the random fruits. however, on some home versions emulated there

is no kill screen, and a screen 256, it starts over, so it is possible to get that far (still working on it). i put up a video on

youtube showing the restart.

i've played the 2600 versions of pac-man, and ms pac-man, and yes, because of the lack of patterns, they are much harder.

would have liked to see more video of the AI that played the 2600 ms pac man, maybe that would have had some ideas about it.

Doesn't work if you use the rack test. :/

Sure it does. You probably got a variant where one of the 2 "random" ghosts disrupts it.. that may sometimes happen (albeit very rarely).

Just try again. :)

<edit> see?
