Rev
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Just-Dance-2018-Nintendo-Wii/55885490 Looks like Just Dance 2018 is coming to Wii this October. Who is picking up this winner just to have the last Wii game? :-)
Atariboy
How do we know that it's the last? I would not be shocked to see this wrap the system up since this appears like it will be the second straight year with just a single release. But after seeing the last 50 or so PS2 releases each be branded as the finale at various classic gaming forums over a period of several years, I like to wait it out 12 months just to see that Just Dance 2019 indeed is absent like I imagine it will be. Rev
Yep. It very well could not be the last! If anyone here's of any more wii games post in here. :-) I'm surprised Cars 3 wasn't released for it.

boog
Just Dance 2017 sold almost 1 million copies on the Wii... far more than any other platform. As long as people are buying I suspect they'll keep making sequels for a few more years.
Rick Dangerous
I bet they'll drop the Wii U port before the Wii port...lol
glazball
To answer your question Rev: No. Just Dance doesn't count as a game, like Sing Party and Wii Fit. Any self-respecting gamer would never need to own or play it, so it won't be necessary for a complete Wii U game collection Just kidding... mostly! I skip all those kinds of games (dance, fitness, major sports) and all these weird big box/figurine games like Skylanders that I have no time, desire or space for. The Wii U will die with Cars 3 for me unless Axiom Verge really does get released.

Rick Dangerous
Any new Wii games in the news? I saw Let's Dance 2018 at Mallwart this weekend but feel like there is at least one more in store for us...
Swami
It has at least 8 or 9 ports, including consoles, Android and iOS and just uses the same engine year after year, so I'm thinking it will end when having to distribute physical media becomes unprofitable. I'm not sure they could continue it on the ancient Wii Network like they could on XBLA for the 360. So, the 360 ports may outlive the Wii ports, given you can download from XBLA and use your phone camera. I have no idea how profitable the biggest XBLA 360 download only titles are ... which I'm guessing are the Virtual Air Guitar releases and possibly classic arcade ports trickling out. It also seems like the kind of game where players would want to track their legs and other arm, if possible. Given the likely resurgence of the PSX in the next couple years, it's possible the Wii could have a revival before JD gets cancelled. Otherwise, I'd give it another year or two of releases, when I imagine the ninth generation consoles leave new Wii games too obscure to be profitable. Atariboy
Just Dance 2019 has been confirmed, so the old Wii isn't quite done just yet. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/06/ubisoft_confirms_just_dance_2019_for_nintendo_switch_wii_u_and_wii
Atariboy
Let's Sing 2019 has been announced for the Wii. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/08/random_thq_announces_lets_sing_2019_for_nintendo_wii No Wii U support just like last year. What's a bit bizarre though when looking through the release history for this franchise, Let's Sing 2017 skipped not only the Wii U, but also the Wii. I wonder what made the publisher return to the Wii with the latest two iterations of this annualized franchise after skipping it entirely back in 2016? Rick Dangerous
How utterly sad is it for the Wii U that the previous console generation is still getting releases, but not the Wii U? Tragic! Well I guess that's what happens when your install base is 13 million instead of 100 million...
boog
I have both Wii and Wii U, but my kids will be getting Just Dance 2019 on the Wii. They have all the previous installments on the Wii so it's easy to just swap discs if they want to re-visit old songs, we have 4 wiimotes sync'd to the system to play with friends, and it's usually cheaper for Wii than the newer consoles. power
they are releasing it on Wii because of backwards compatibility - so one release covers both platforms.
Atariboy
they are releasing it on Wii because of backwards compatibility - so one release covers both platforms. Just Dance 2019? Atariboy
Just Dance 2020 announced for the Wii. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/06/random_the_nintendo_wii_simply_refuses_to_die No Wii U release this year. Barring the possibility of another Limited Run Games release, it seems safe to now declare physical releases on the Wii U as finished.

Atariboy
Ubisoft is saying that the new Just Dance 2020 will be their last Wii game. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/11/just_dance_2020_might_be_the_last_entry_released_on_wii And by extension, it seems a safe assumption to declare this the last Wii game.
