Does anyone have a spare VIC 20 Char rom?

Hi , I am trying to bring life back to a Vic-20. It works fine but some of the characters, like S for example, are missing pixels. I assume that means the Character ROM is on the way out. Is there a source for these or do I need to find another Vic-20? If the latter, does anyone have one they want to get rid of?

Are other characters displaying pixels in those positions, e.g. if you print an inverse space (POKE 7680,160) are all pixels filled?

 

I wonder if a 2532 EPROM would be a slot-in replacement like it is on the PETs. While there are plenty of VIC-20 carcasses out there, often the character ROM is soldered in place so basically it would be an exercise in desoldering to remove it to ship separately. In theory I suppose a C64 character ROM would work too, although the characters are twice as fat, if you mainly need one to prove functionality.

Reverse works fine on most characters, just 4 of them are not displaying correctly. The colors are also flickering so maybe the VIC chip itself is defective?
