hueyjones70
My 800XL memory test stops after 40 blocks. I have not noticed any other problems and haven't yet looked at the mobo.
Rybags
That's normal, it'll only check 48K maximum of the installed 64. The later XE OS will check 48K of main Ram as well as the 64K extended. 40 blocks means Basic's enabled. To test 48K either power up with no disk device powered up while holding option or from Basic type: POKE 9,0 : POKE 1016,1 Then press Reset. Then select Memory Test from the menu. +tf_hh
My 800XL memory test stops after 40 blocks. I have not noticed any other problems and haven't yet looked at the mobo. If you hold down OPTION while powering off and enter the memory test, you will see that 48 blocks are tested - 48 KB. The 16 KB under the OS-ROM space are never tested by the SELFTEST.
