ubersaurus
I recently got my Atari pong unit's paddles cleaned up, and it works way better now... except now I don't have any sound whatsoever coming out of the speaker. There was sound prior to me opening it up to clean the paddles, but nothing now. There's no mute on this thing, right? Any idea how to fix it? Trinity
Could have broke a wire going to the speaker, Or got it loose someway.
BassGuitari
Yeah, probably a cracked solder joint or broken wire. Should be a pretty simple fix.
ubersaurus
Hm, I'll refresh the solder on the cord and see if I can check continuity (the wires are in the little plastic connector so I don't know how well the probe will fit in there), see if I can suss out the issue. If it comes down to doing something else with the wire it might be a little beyond me.
chas10e
they used 2 prong plugs on everything in there .... is it back on the right spot ? there are also some very thin wires on the speaker itself I have gotten a pong unit with a bad speaker before, the spare speaker I had worked (now I haz no spare )

The three spots are labeled on the board and since the power and serve button plugs seem to work just fine it's gotta just be an issue with the wire or the connection. ubersaurus
Color me stumped. I checked continuity for both speaker wires and I'm getting the beep, so they seem fine. I even tried it with the wire plugged into the spot on the main board and checked continuity from the speaker to the prong and it still goes through. No idea what could be the problem.
