Akito01
I'm kinda getting to the end of my TurboGrafx-16/PC-Engine sell off, which means I'm down to the two adult mahjong games I own. In hunting down the proper names for these games to put in my listing details, I noticed something odd about my copy of Kyukyoku Mahjong compared to all the images I've seen on the internet; As you can see, my copy comes in a cardboard box, with a very fat-ended HuCard. All of the other copies on I've come across on the internet have this game in an ordinary PC-Engine style jewel case with a standard flat HuCard. This seems very odd to me. Does anyone with more knowledge about the PC-Engine than I do have any idea what the deal is with my version of the game? Does this make it less or more valuable (or just an oddity with no impact on value since no one cares about mahjong games)?
Akito01
Ah, from a little additional digging, it seem this is a Chinese bootleg that was produced at the time. A quarter of a century later, the truth comes out! I'm guessing it's probably still alright to sell, as long as I clearly identify that it is an unofficial copy.
