OT: Needs home, eprom programmer and laptop

My first EPROM programmer was the Xeltek SuperPro Z, and not even Xeltek wants to admit they made it. ;-)

At least Digikey has a photo, and apparently some *really* expensive adapters:

Anyway, I'm doing some purging and I need to cut this thing loose. There is nothing wrong with it other than it is a parallel port only device, and if the CPU in your computer is clocked over 1GHz the software won't work. Apparently Xeltek committed an age-old sin and programmed timing loops in their software that are affected by computer speed. Thus, I have kept an old IBM ThinkPad laptop running Windows XP just to use the programmer.

If you happened to be at my house and we were kicking around my workshop, and you happened to eyeball the device and laptop, I would probably say something like "take it, give it a good home". So, if you don't have a programmer, or if you do and you just want a nice ThinkPad, let me know.

See the first link above for a list of features, software download (the ThinkPad comes with the latest software for the programmer), and other info. A nice feature of the programmer is that it will also check logic chips to make sure they are working, i.e. stuff like 74ls series and such. I have used that feature a lot!

All in all you get:

1. SuperPro Z with original box and power supply

2. IBM ThinkPad running XP with programming software installed

3. Linksys PCMCIA wireless card for the ThinkPad

4. Parallel cable

5. New PLCC chip-puller (because I have too many)

I am in SoCal (greater Los Angles area) if anyone wants to do a local pickup (I will drive to meet you, within reason), otherwise I will ship it at your expense. Send me a PM.
