Interesting week for me. Here are my weekday times (Monday-Friday)

VCS:

Berserk (10 minutes)

Circus Atari (15 minutes)

Mouse Trap (15 minutes)

Super Breakout (20 minutes)

TI-99/4A:

Alpiner (30 minutes)

Rabbit Trail (10 minutes)

St. Nick (20 minutes)

Strike Three! (25 minutes)

TI Poop Log (45 minutes) *

* TI Poop Log is simply a hacked version of TI Invaders with a different title screen and slightly modified graphics. Not sure if that counts, or if the minutes should go to Invaders. :D

Here are my times for this week (June 11th through 17th) on classic systems:

Arcade:

Donkey Kong Jr. - 23 min.

Atari 7800:

Baby Pac-Man (WIP) - 131 min. in 4 sessions

B*nQ - 30 min.

This week I followed the development of Baby Pac-Man for the Atari 7800, trying multiple versions both with arcade and "classic" ghost AI. It's coming along nicely, but the pinball portion is still missing. While at it, I also replayed B*nQ, a Q*bert clone for the Atari 7800 which is reasonably accurate to the original version (except for the sounds which remind me a bit of the NES version of Q*bert). I also replayed the original arcade version of Donkey Kong Jr. for a few rounds, but never made it past the 5th screen.

VG 5000 -

Glouton - 45min

Le Fou Volant - 8min

Le Monstre - 15min

Le Moto Infernale - 10min

Machaon - 65min

Tetris - 5min

Tortues - 50min

US Rallye - 10min

I got another 10min on Machaon so 75 total :)

The VG 5000 for those who may not know is a French computer (I use a Scart to HDMI converter to use it here in the US) it received several Odyssey 2 ports Glouton (KC Munchkin), Tortues (Turtles), and several others as well as some clones like Machaon (Boulderdash) overall its a really neat system but it does take up some space when in full form (System, 5200 controller module, controller, tape deck and huge *** power supply lol, plus 2 US to Euro power converters)

Genesis

After Burner II 7

Alien3 32

Not much for me. I played Alien3 basically on Jin's recommendation from another thread. It was much better than I initially thought it would be. I meant to go back to it over the weekend, but I had a bunch of family stuff and then got distracted watching the World Cup. #VamosMexico

Weekend times (Saturday and Sunday)

VCS:

Defender (25 minutes)

Fantastic Voyage (20 minutes)

Super Breakout (20 minutes)

Survival Run (20 minutes)

Nintendo 64:

1080 (150 minutes)

Cruisin' USA (30 minutes)

Knockout Kings 2000 (210 minutes)

Pokémon Snap (60 minutes)

TI/99/4A:

Popeye (45 minutes)

Yahtzee (60 minutes)

Lots and lots of N64.... as I picked one up this weekend for the first time in probably 5 years. Didn't find my two favorite games though.... Mario Kart 64 and All Star Baseball 99. As soon as ASB99 is in my hands, you can pretty much forget any other times coming from me, as I plan on playing a 162 game season.

I like to make my own pitchers, put them on the Rockies... then turn off the salary cap and trade Paul ONeill, Chuck Knoblauch, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, and Derek Jeter to the Rockies for all the scrubs. I keep Dante Bickette, Vinny Castilla, Todd Helton, and Larry Walker. I like to build two pitchers, then also have Roger Clemens and Pedro Martinez on my team. In ASB99, you can get away with pitching a 4 man rotation through the season...... so yeah.... I'm pretty obsessive on that game.

This is the line up I have used for two decades now.... :)

It was a rather interesting and eventful past two weeks of gaming around here. Last week was largely dominated by emulation, testing out some Sega Master System games on the Wii (since we had a Master System Converter II for our Genesis on the way from Great Britain) to see what games might be worth picking up physical copies of when the converter arrived. I also spent some time introducing the misses to some of my favorite childhood Sega Genesis games via emulation while we were at it, and we tried out the Master System versions to see how they compared.

The other gaming activity that took up a big chunk of my time last week, after finally finishing Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii, was going back and playing a bunch of Game Boy games for the first time since I got really depressed and stupidly sold most of my rather enormous Game Boy / Color collection last summer. It was a lot of fun playing games on my Game Boy Color again after so long and I'm now feeling firmly committed to rebuilding my old Game Boy / Color collection. I figure if I can pick up 3 games that I usde to own every month it should only take me 2 years to rebuild, and I got off to a pretty good start with that this past week. Sometimes in life we make mistakes and bad decisions that can't be fixed, but fortunately this is one that with enough time and patience can be fixed.

So, for me this week was largely focused on playing some Game Boy games that I picked up to start rebuilding my old collection. I played a little Revenge of the Gator pinball, but most of the week was spent playing through my #1 all time favorite game on any system: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the original Game Boy. At this point I'm probably 3/4 of the way through the game and have just been taking my time, exploring, and having fun revisiting my favorite video game locale. There's just no place in gaming quite like Koholint Island, and I'm definitely enjoying my return to it after so many years away.

Rather than revisiting an old favorite, this week the misses spent all week trying out a new addition to her library of survival horror games for the original PlayStation. She's been having an awesome time with it and is already planning on picking up Parasite Eve II once she finishes the first one, since affordable horror games on the PlayStation that she doesn't own yet are getting fewer and fewer in number. In addition to our respective games of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Parasite Eve, we also spent some time playing a few new 32X games together and trying out the Master System Converter II for our Genesis that arrived in the mail early in the week. At this point the only Master System game we own is Out Run (because it was the only decent condition Master System game I could find locally) but it was still a ton of fun to play.

Well, I think that about covers everything around here from the past two weeks! Until next time, and as always, best wishes and happy gaming to you and yours. :)

I'll sell you back the GBC games that I bought from you if you like - same price in reverse.

I will absolutely take you up on your very kind and generous offer! I get paid next on July 1st and will gladly purchase them back from you then. I wasn't going to ask anyone to sell me back any of my old games, because it just wouldn't have felt right begging someone else to fix my mistakes, but if you're offering then that's an offer I can't refuse! :)
