A tough game for five innings until the Ghosts big bats and fast baserunning score a run in the 6th and a run in the 7th. They blank the River Raiders 2-0. Ghosts snap their three game losing streak. Raiders snap their three game win streak.

The Smash crush the FIRST PITCH OF THE GAME for a massive home run to right center. The Armada then committed three big errors in the 4th inning allowing the Smash to score four runs. The Smash go on to win 6-0. That's the Armada's third straight loss.

Let's break down the first half:

Beamriders

Their offense started to decline last season, culminating with no runs against the Deadly Dogs in last year's league championship series. Their offense is showing no signs of improvement this season, scoring only three runs in five games. There are still five games left for them in the season, so it's not over yet, but they would need to pull off one of the biggest win streaks in league history to have a shot at their fifth straight Action Network Championship.

Ghosts

It's been a season of extremes so far: they have two shutouts but have been blanked themselves three times. Except for one bad inning against the Beamriders, their games have been close. They can stay in the championship race with more consistency.

Mutants

They have a big offense and a tight defense so far, only giving up three runs in five games. They've had a couple of big wins, but also a couple of tough close losses. With consistent playing, they can run wild in the Action Network.

Smash

They're off to another good start this season. They had a bad first game against the Mutants, but have played tough in their last four games, including a big six run shutout of the Armada. Pitching and defense have been great with three shutout wins so far. Their problem has always been staying consistent in the second half. If they can keep this pace up, they can make a run for the network title.

Snakes

They've had a good start this year. Hitting has been good with two strong late inning wins, but pitching and defense have struggled at times. If they can control their pitches and tighten up the defense, they can be deadly to their opponents.

Armada

It's not been a good season for them so far. They are not scoring many runs and their errors are mounting up. After three straight shutout losses and leading the league in runs allowed, it's clear they need a lot of work.

Bombers

They had an explosive five run shutout win against the league champion Deadly Dogs and fought the Armada for 18 innings, but their offense and defense have been inconsistent overall so far. One positive is that they have not been shutout yet this season. They are both first in runs scored and third in runs allowed. If they can shut down their opponent's offense, they could stay in the championship race.

Deadly Dogs

The once hot offense of the defending league champs has cooled off, only scoring four runs in five games and have been shut out three times. The worse part is that they are second in the league in runs allowed, thanks to defensive errors and a weak bullpen. They'll need a lot of work to get back to championship form.

River Raiders

Another team of extremes: over their three wins they have scored a total of nine runs, but in their two losses have not scored any. If they can stay consistent, they have what it takes to get their first network title.

Spartans

They've blasted off with the best record in the league so far. They don't score a lot of runs, but with their pitching and defense earning three shutouts, they don't need them. It looks like they are back into their championship form of 2014.

Anything can happen in the second half!

The Beamriders have a disastrous first inning giving up a first pitch home run, a walk and several hits allowing three runs. The Beamriders kept fighting but come up short losing 3-2.

Beamriders are now 1-5 and have a four game losing streak, both firsts in team history.

They are now 0-4 at home and now lead the league in runs allowed with 13.
