Room 34 Posted June 3, 2003 Share Posted June 3, 2003 My guess is it's just a piece of furniture that was mass-produced specifically for housing a 2600 game system. The console was SO ubiquitous in the early '80s that I know there were third parties producing storage racks and, presumably, other furniture specifically designed for it.
