I just found a Sears Video Arcade II in my OWN HOME

Collect a lot of different stuff for a lot of years. Trust me, it happens.

 

I used to find something I didn't remember even having almost every time I reorganized my collection. That was a big clue that maybe it was time to downsize.

The worst is when you know you have a console or 2 and then can't find them no matter how much you turn over your home! That is what I'm dealing with now for over 6 years regarding my X'eye, and 2 - 32x units. They were in the same box when we moved and that box has disappeared. Speculation is that I might have mistaken it as a box of other stuff and donated it to goodwill...yeah... that is a possibility.

This is part of why I don't consider myself a collector. I have more consoles and games than the average indie shop and it's more than a reasonable person could play. I want to sell a lot of it off, but that's a hassle in itself -- then I'd probably forget what I do and don't have as a result.
