PRStoetzer
I have a TI-99/4A that turns on and displays the home screen, but the home screen disappears in a few seconds to a blue screen. With an FG99 cartridge in the slot, I can hit the reset button to bring it to the home screen (and it does not disappear). However, it does not respond to any key presses either. I have disassembled the unit and cleaned the cartridge slot, resocketed the socketed chips, and cleaned the keyboard connector. Any ideas on what might be the cause?
PRStoetzer
Well, seems like it's the keyboard. The 9 key is the only key that works. That gets me to the cartridge menu. And it's a Mitsumi, which I understand to be a complete pain to deal with. I'm still a bit confused about the screen blanking within a couple of seconds of boot, though. +arcadeshopper
Yeah that I've seen on one console.. it's like the counter gets messed up on boot, but on the console I have if you fctn-= (reset) it will go back to normal (10min to clear) there's a link in the faq to possibly fixing a mitsumi ..good luck!
