chad5200
Recently starting going through my old floppy disks that I collected back in the 1980's and came across a graphical text adventure game that I cannot find anywhere on the web. It's a bootable disk and it requires Basic to run. It is called "The Impossible Mansion Of Horrors". It's not on Atarimania and I find no references in my Google searches. It references a couple of old BBS's... so possibly this game is a hack of a pre-existing game? Does this look familiar to anyone?

chad5200
Cloak of Death Ah... OK... thanks for confirming that this is just a hack where a BBS slapped their name on it. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-cloak-of-death_1091.html
chad5200
Anyways... here is the ATR of the hacked game. I guess this beats playing around with the CAS files on Atarimania. Also, this hacked version will save and load games to disk instead of cassette. _The Doctor__
Conversion of games from cassette to disk with all functions like loading, saving as well as conversions from another system like the 5200 to the 8 bit with all functions retained often were accompanied by BBS text files, title screens with nice notes, graffiti, or alterations to make them better, possibly correcting mistakes. Often you would get the name of a BBS, a phone number, a hackers alias, or some juvenile splashes. It was the way to make a name, a mark, or just have some silly fun... all while promoting whatever you were into at the time. Fun stuff... thanks for this.
