ParanoidLittleMan
TOS 2.05 has basically everything what 2.06 - since 2.06 is just bugfixed v. Usually people already upgraded to 2.06 . Formatting, partitioning destroys all data on hard disk. Flash card, and there are warnings about it in SW for that. However, it is not wiping, and actually most of files remain on disk. At least that's case with partitioning. Some old fashion formatting is what destroys all data, but that's not needed with newer hard disk and especially not with Flash cards. + it may take hours with Atari speed on some multi GB card. So, data can be even retrieved - of course before starting to fill disk with new data. There is special SW for that purpose - for Windows, not for Atari, though.
