+Lee Stewart
I have two Remex ⅔-height 5.25" DSDD diskette drives manufactured by Ex-Cell-O Corporation (early 1980s, I believe) that stopped working shortly after I acquired them for cheap in the mid-1980s. As I recall (I am not home and won’t be for some time), they spin up and their LEDs light up, but that is all. The cool thing about them that I thought would make them outlast other drives is that they have direct drive spindles—no belt to replace. Alas—it was not to be. I would like to repair them if that is at all possible. I have a manual at home that I could get one of my kids to bring to me later this month if someone here could use information contained therein to help in troubleshooting these drives. I probably should have waited until I get home to start this topic, but I am not getting any younger and I must seize upon ideas when they first make an appearance or risk their escape to oblivion. ...lee
