SS
Unreleased Atari Game from 1977, soon to be emulated by MAME. The picture reminds me of Activision's Boxing. Anyone know anything else about the game? I'm looking forward to being able to give it a try.
oesii
Your screenshot link didn't come through, probably they don't like off-site linking Never seen or heard of this game, looks interesting. Hopefully the gameplay is as good as Activision's. I've noticed that all these old B&W Mame games lack sound, they should get some samples for them! Raijin Z
I think the ultimate evolution of the boxing game right now is MOCAP BOXING by Konami. Best workout I've ever had! You really feel the burn by the second round!
King Atari
That looks pretty cool, very similar to Activision's game. I like the old B/W games, but my favorite has to be Dog Fight.
SS
Bob Whitehead was the programmer for Activision's Boxing. He was also the programmer on some of the early Atari titles. I wonder if he was working in the coin-op division in the 70s as well or if at least he had access to the WIPs? Perhaps this unreleased arcade title was indeed an inspiration for his home version?
