Clint Thompson
Here's my problem: ------------------------- I've been wanting to learn how to program some sort of console (Normally Atari related) since ever, yet, I don't know a lick about programming really. I mean, I used to do basic from books back in the day and understand why input a$ was there and some minor stuff like that. Answer?: -------------- Where do I begin? Everything I see I'm slightly overwhelmed with it. My terminology understanding is bad (obviously because I've never used a lot of the stuff out there as far as programming is concerned) I want to learn how to program for the Atari Falcon... what are my options? Where do I start? THE ABSOLUTE BEGINNER... is there such a thing? I hear people say "Oh, it only took me 24 hours to program this, or this one took me about a week" Well, where should I start? I want to do a simple game, then keep advancing until I get into more complex stuff. My main goal is to eventually learn how to program a decent game! Specifically really for the Atari Falcon(being there isn't too many Falcon-only games anyways) I want to work up to where I can have a 3D wireframe ball with squares , user interactive and apply textures to a certain number of cells. And, I'm guessing the Falcon wouldn't have a problem with that @ 320x200 Resolution. Music is not a problem.... I can do music (raw audio/midi/mod, whatever) and graphics don't seem to be too much of an issue at hand, it's just the damn programming! Any advice at where I can start and actually feel some accomplishment or make a simple program in a day or 2 oppose to "Hello world" printed on the stupid monitor? Any ideas on what I should do? Anyone? Clint Thompson
