jamesb69
Ok I am wanting to do an "RF Mod" by.... me. I am wanting to do one similar to this (only with a coax jack): http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29976 Questions: 1. Would it be better to use a coax cable or an RCA video cable for the short run to the jack. By better, i mean which would deliver a cleaner signal. 2. The RF jack on the motherboard wont allow a new RCA cable/adapter to plug in because the centerpost is too long. What would be the best way. 3. Where can i get a cable that short? looking at it even a 1ft cable would be way longer than needed. I cannot solder so please dont bother suggesting something that will require it. Any other (simple) creative ideas are welcome! Thanks

Rob Mitchell
I cannot solder so please dont bother suggesting something that will require it. Any other (simple) creative ideas are welcome! The mod requires soldering .. best to use the existing RF cable and cut to length to reach the back of the console where you would mount a RCA socket and solder the connections. jamesb69
i was thinking that if it were possible to clip the centerpost off of a new cable so i can plug it into the atari's board, then i could just get a short cable, clip the centerpost, and get an adapter to stick on the other end.
